This piece has been made up from five strips, each 13 cm wide, and woven on a double-heddle man's loom. The warp-faced stripes are made from marled indigo yarn alternating with thinner lines of red and pink machine spun cotton. The selvedges of each strip have been woven in white machine spun cotton, and the ends fringed to finish it. The weft has been made from marled indigo yarn, locally spun and dyed (as in the warp) with supplementary weft-float patterns based on triangles and diamond shapes which alternate with lined rectangles.
