A wooden figure with exagerrated large round head, simplistic facial features and breasts. It has been splattered with black paint. See also RCC036 and RCC057.

Notes:  Most likely Fante but traditionally used by Akan and Ashanti too. - Used by women who want to have children, a fertility doll representing the moon that is a worn on the woman's back in the hope that it will transfer the spirit into her womb so that she can become pregnant or ensure the attractiveness of her children.JRS These in this collection were probably made purely for the tourist trade.JRS
