Description:  Obverse: laureate head of Tiberius r. Reverse: Tiberius in slow quadriga r., holding laurel branch in r. hand and eagle-tipped sceptre in l., horses' heads all turned r.

The titles on this coin show that Tiberius was already in a position of great power before the death of Augustus. Tribunician power meant that he could call an assembly of the people, sit in the Senate, veto any law, and that his person was sacred and inviolable.

Reverse: TR•POT•XVI•IMP•VII• ([in his] sixteenth Tribunician Power, Victorious General seven times)
