This blanket is made from cotton, a crop that is plentiful on the plains of the Kano and Rano regions of Hausaland. It is made from nine lengths of double-heddle narrow-loom woven strips (14 cm in width), and is weft striped in indigo on white. It was probably presented to the Danford Collection by Sister Evelyn Bellamy 1969.
