Description:  Obverse: Bearded Christ, with cruciform nimbus, seated on backless throne. The gospels are in Christ’s left hand; his right is raised in benediction.
Reverse: Full length standing emperor in chlamys. He holds the labarum (imperial standard) in his right hand and a globe with cross in his left. The hand of God is reaching out of the Ark of Heaven to crown the emperor.

Inscriptions / Translations:  Inscription runs from obverse to reverse. +żeRż żTeż żżeżżżżeCżżż żżżżżżżżż (Lord Help Alexios Despot Komnenos) IC XC in obverse field (Greek abbreviation for Jesus Christ)
