Description:  Two identical medals commemorating the opening of the University of Birmingham in 1909 by King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra. Depicts the royal couple in relief, surrounded by the inscription. Is attached to a bronze crest of the University. The crest is backed with a pin so that it may be attached it to clothing. Reverse of the medal has second inscription on scroll, with a small relief of the Aston Webb building.

Inscriptions / Translations:  Front: 'EDWARDVS.REX.ET.IMP.ET.ALEXANDRA.REG.1909'
Reverse: 'TO COMMEMORATE THE OPENING OF THE BIRMINGHAM VNIVERSITY 1909'
