Description: Obverse: Head of Nero, wearing radiate crown and bearded, facing r. Reverse: Inscription to l. and r. of frontal view of the Macellum Magnum, its domed central section (in two storeys and approachable by steps) flanked by two-storied wings of unequal height, with porticoes; above the steps in the centre, male figure standing facing l., l hand holding long sceptre.
Inscriptions: Obverse: NERO CLAVD GAESAR.AVG GER P M TR Γ JMP Γ P (Nero Claudius, Caesar Augustus Germanicus, Head of the College of Priests, Tribune, Imperator, Father of the Fatherland). Reverse: MAC AVC S C (The Macellum of Augustus, S C; translation disputed).
