Name:  Damascus Hoard
Brief biography:  A small hoard of nummia found in a pot near Damascus.

This hoard is only attested through one provenance record of the Barber's coins - a pentanummium of Anastasius I from the mint of Antioch. About this 1969 purchase Whitting notes that it was 'from a pot of nummia found near Damascus'. Given Whitting bought an Antiochene pentanummium of Justin II from the same place on the same day, it is plausible that this coin was also part of the hoard. We have been unable to find any further information.
