Lucilla was the daughter of Marcus Aurelius and Faustina Minor, the daughter of Antoninus Pius. She was married to her father's co-emperor (and her mother's former fiance), Lucius Verus, as a young teenager. Her marriage to Verus raised her to the rank of Augusta, alongside her mother. Verus died during her father's reign, and Lucilla was married to another nobleman, Claudius Pompeianus. When her father died, Lucilla's younger brother, Commodus, became emperor. Lucilla and her only surviving child by Verus (Plautia) were implicated in a coup against Commodus and exiled then murdered in 182.
