Description:  Obverse: bust of Christ nimbate facing, holding gospel in l. hand, seven pellets in each limb of cross. Reverse: busts of Basil I. and Constantine r. wearing modified loros and chlamys with jewelled tablion, respectively, and cross crowns with pendilia, holding patriarchal cross crosslet between them; above Basil's head, a manus dei.

Inscriptions:  Obverse: + IhS XIS RЄX RЄΓNANTInm (Jesus Christ King of Kings) Reverse · + bΛSIL C COnSτChTI n R · (Basil and Constantine, emperor, king).
