Description:  Obverse: bust of Christ nimbate facing, holding gospel in l. hand, limbs of cross with serifs, and a pellet in the upper two quadrants of the nimbus. Reverse: busts of Basil I. and Constantine r. wearing modified loros and chlamys with jewelled tablion, respectively, and cross crowns with pendilia, holding plain cross between them; above Basil's head, a manus dei.

Inscriptions:  Obverse: + IhS XIS nЄX RЄSNANTInm (Jesus Christ King of Kings) Reverse · + bΛSIL C COnSτΛhTI h R · (Basil and Constantine, emperor, king).

Notes:  Depression in metal and two inscision marks on Constantine' face may be indicative of an abortive piercing attempt.
