Description:  Obverse: Emperor standing facing wrapped in loros, with mappa held aloft in r. hand and cross-topped sceptre in l. Reverse: M with cross above.

Inscriptions:  Obverse: ƆN-… N... (Our Lord Leo?) Reverse: AИ… XXɪ (Year 20 or 21?). Off. Γ (3). Mint mark COM.

Bibliography:  MIB III Leo III pl.52 Küpfer 24.

Notes:  Coin of uncertain attribution. Article of Grierson 1974 attributes it to Leo III on grounds of a specimen with readable inscription. Whitting's original notes log the inscription of this coin as dNOIV ST INI AV, but this is no longer visible. Leontios is also a plausible attribution on grounds of loros and raised mappa.
