Description:  Obverse: Shapur II, facing r. on frontal bust, bearded, hair tied in bunch over l. shoulder, earring; crown with single pellet band, mural elements, korymbos above crown; single pellet band at neckline; single pellet border. Reverse: Fire altar, with two steps at bottom, two steps at top, with altar slab; fire atop altar, with bust within the flames; to l. and r. of altar attendants, crowned, holding swords/barsom; single pellet border.

Inscriptions:  Obverse: [Reading clockwise from r. of crown, bottom of letters facing die border] MZDYSN BGI MLKAN ŠHPHRI (MAZDAYASNA BAGI MALKAN SHAPURI/Mazda-worshipping divine King Shapur). Reverse: NURA SHAPURI (Fire of Shapur) RAST (Truth)
