Description: Obverse: Head of Severina, wearing diadem, draped, on crescent, facing r. Reverse: Fides, draped and laurate, standing facing r., holding two ensigns, facing Sol, naked but cloaked and radiate, standing facing l., r. hand raised and holding globe in l. Inscriptions: Obverse: SEVBRI-NH HVC (Severina Augusta). Reverse: PAO-HIDEN DE-OR (Providence of the Gods). In Exergue: VXXT Bibliography: RIC V 9 Notes: On the obverse, there are two lines on the upper neck of Severina, likely from the die, but not unique to a singular die. In accordance with RIC, the VXXT in the exergue of the reverse are mintmarks indicating Rome. |
