The article explains that Wilkinson W H was a part of a deputation attending before the Council to present a memorial on the matter of 'The Management of the Park'. Reasons against the Town Council's actions included extremely rare insect life, with some specimens never having been collected before except at Sutton Park. The Memorial includes several points against the Corporation's treatment of the park as a suburban creation, rather than rural beauty. 'Mr. W. H. Wilkinson (another of the deputation) said it was not altogether the quantity and quality of the trees but the cutting down of trees which would probably last another hundred years, while those newly planted would require many years to attain such dimensions, if ever they did, which he doubted.
