Major-General H. L. Haughton was an officer of Her Majesty's forces in India, who finished his career as Commander of the Kohat District there, but also wrote on sport, folk-lore and numismatics. His coin collection, largely of Hellenistic and particularly Seleucid coins, was dispersed by auction at Sotheby's in April 1958 and has come to rest in a number of places including the British Museum. |
