Description:  Obverse: Bust of Christ, bearded and nimbate, wearing tunic and kolobion; makes benediction with r. hand, and holds Gospels in l. hand; star to l. and r. of Christ. Reverse: Bust of emperor wearing stemma and collar with three tippets.

Inscriptions:  Obverse: OI XЄ (Jesus Christ) additional inscription blundered. Reverse: +IWΔЄC…OΠAΛIOΛOΓO (John, despot, Palaiologos)
