Marcus was the son of Basiliscus and Zenonis. After Basiliscus took power from his sister's son-in-law, the Emperor Zeno, in 475, Marcus was crowned co-emperor with his father. When Zeno returned, however, Marcus was exiled, along with his parents, and starved to death with them. |
