Libius Severus (also sometimes Severus III) was a puppet emperor of the powerful Magister Militum, Ricimer. He was not a universally acknowledged Western Roman Emperor, with King of the Vandals Gaiseric (backed by military power), and the Eastern Roman Emperor Leo I (also raised by Ricimer to be a puppet, but who broke free of his control) backing other candidates. |
