Object type:  Letter
Date made:  1891-06-15

Measurements:  18 x 22.4 cm

Handwritten letter from Edward Serrell from Whilby(?) to Wilkinson W H, explaining that Wilkinson's letter to Serrell's son, Philip, has been forwarded here from Edinburgh. He does not know whether Wilkinson's letter is of immediate importance but he presumes not. His son has not been attending to any correspondence since his return to England from Italy last winter, but as soon as he is, the letter will be passed on to him, but Wilkinson should keep the specimen for now. Also a note that Serrell does not know where Sutton Coldfield is but saw that it was sent by Birmingham post, and so to add 'Birmingham' to the addresses in future. On the back, there are scientific names, 'Hyacinth Campanula, 3 colours' and others. Sutton Coldfield address on bottom, looks like Wilkinson's handwriting. The back of the letter looks to all be written by Wilkinson and dated 1891-06-15.
