Handwriten letter from Phillips to Wilkinson W H regarding the name of a Lichen, which Phillips says is 'Ricasolina amplissima' and explains that the black warty growths on the specimen are not parasites but (illegible/ usual?) from an abnormal growth of the (illegible), and caused it to be named by early authors 'Slida (?) glomulifera' = Parmelia glomulifera'. Canonbury, Shrewsbury is printed in red ink at the top of the letter.
