Violet is on the right-hand side of the photograph wearing a long white skirt and a University of Birmingham blazer in a c. 1940s style.
Notes: This is a photograph of Violet May Warren, a University of Birmingham student from 1935-1940. She is pictured walking whilst holding the hand of a man, that man being Albert Turner who later became her husband. Violet studied English and was a resident of University House. Violet was the first woman in her home area of Mow Cop, Staffordshire to attend University. She died on 4 April 2010 at the age of 93.
