This 'riga' (robe in Hausa) is embroidered in self-coloured silk and is intended to be worn with 'wando' (trousers). The embroidery makes up a 'two knives' ('aska biyu') or 'two needles' ('allura biyu') pattern, referring to the methods undertaken to embroider the cloth. The cloth itself is coloured in tones of white, cream and tan.
