Cavity magnetron designed to fit end of 20th century domestic microwave cooker. Frequency probably about 2.5 GHz (wavelength 1.2 cm) and power 600 W. Compact design with the magnetic field produced by strong ceramic magnets built close around the anode block. The high voltage supply and cathode heater are in the box at the bottom of the image. There are large fins for air-cooling by an external fan. The microwaves are delivered to the cooking chamber via the metal stub projecting through an insulator from the top of the magnetron.
