This piece is a single length of cotton textile woven on a single-heddle woman's loom. It uses a combination of machine-spun and hand-spun yarn in white, black and indigo. The warp is striped with a supplementary 'basket weave' pattern, which appears almost chequered. It was presented to the Danford Collection by Sister Evelyn Bellamy in 1969.
