Description:  Obverse: Bust of Valens, facing r. draped, cuirassed, diademed. Reverse: Victory seated in front of genius, both holding inscribed shield.

Inscriptions:  Obverse: D N VALENS P F AVC (our lord Valens pious fortunate Augustus). Reverse: VOT / V / MVLT / X (prayers for 5 years of rule, more for the 10th anniversary). Peripheral: VVGTORIH HVC (Victory of the Augustus). Mint mark: [star]CONS[laurel wreath] (mint of Constantinopolis).
