A Chinese red lacquer box of double diamond shape with design in gold of dragons. Made for use in the Imerpial Palace. Apparently the only lacquer with a mark attaching it to the workshop of the Emperor Lung Ch'ing (1567-72). The six character mark is on the base in gold. Inscriptions / Translations: Inscribed beneath with the mark of Lung Ch'ing. |
