Description: Obverse: Christ, bearded and nimbate, wearing tunic and kolobion, seated upon throne without back; r. hand raised in benediction, holds Gospels in l. hand; pellet normally in each limb of nimbus cross. Reverse: Full-length figure of emperor on l. and of Archangel Michael nimbate, giving a castle with three towers into the hands of the emperor; emperor wears stemma, divitision, collar-piece and jeweled loros of simplified type; holds labarum-headed sceptre in r. hand; Saint wears divitision, collar-piece and paneled loros of simplified type; Manus Dei in upper centre field.
