Description:  Obverse: Head of Claudius, wearing radiate crown and beard, draped, facing r. Reverse: Providentia, draped, standing facing l., holding baton in r. and sceptre in l.; at feet, globe to l.

Inscriptions:  Obverse: IMP CLHIIDIVS P F HVC (Imperator Claudius Pius Felix Augustus). Reverse: PROV-I-D HVC (The Foresight of the Emperor). In Exergue: T.

Bibliography:  RIC V 163 var.

Notes:  In accordance with RIC, the T on the exergue of the reverse is a mintmark indicating Mediolanum. As opposed to the RIC type, the figure on the reverse holds a sceptre instead of a cornucopia in l.
