Description: Obverse: Head of Probus, wearing radiate crown and beard, cuirassed and wearing imperial mantle, holding sceptre surmounted by eagle, facing l. Reverse: Sol, naked but radiate, riding facing l. in quadriga, raising r. hand and holding whip in l.
Inscriptions: Obverse: PROBV-S P F AVG (Probus Pius Felix Augustus). Reverse: SO-LI INVIC-TO (The Invincible Sol). In Exergue: R[symbol]Γ

Notes: In accordance with RIC, the R[symbol]Γ in the exergue of the reverse are mintmarks indicating Rome. The symbol is either an elongated star or a thunderbolt. RIC does not note that the figure of Sol raises r. hand, though it does note this for other types with Sol on reverse.
