Red leather uppers with dyed black geometric patterning. Matching leather ankle strap and soles made from rubber tyres. These were purchased in Hadejia, a market town in northern Nigeria. They are part of the collection of Hausa items loaned to the University of Birmingham by Pete Tunley in 1978. Most of the collection was consequently gifted to the University in 2010.
