Batles who has recently died and the British Museum leave the kind offer of his collection, which Kew would like to get as they do not have a good collection unlike the British Museum. Holmes asks if W. A. Cadbury would purchase his (Holmes') collection of marine and freshwater algae and explains the numbers of slides. In the top right corner of the letter, a Kent address is printed.
