Handwritten letter from W.H. Wilkinson to Professor Hillhouse regarding the Holmes Collection of Seaweeds, informing him that through the generosity of W.A. Cadbury, he was able to send a cheque to Holmes to purchase the collection for presentation to the University of Birmingham and that now Holmes willl need to make the arrangements for their transfer. Wilkinson says that it has been suggested that the collection be open to reference, on subjective conditions and not to students.
