(1) Strip woven from natural-coloured raphia. Warp striped in white cotton yarn (0.3 cm wide stripes) at 6 cm intervals. Weft in natural raphia with simple supplementary float patterns in black or fawn cotton. Fringed ends. 154 x 42 cm. (2) Strip woven from natural-coloured raphia. Alternating warp stripes (0.2 cm wide) in green and white cotton yarn at 2.1 cm intervals (save for the last 14 cms of width). Fringed ends. 192 x 48 cm (3) Strip woven from natural-coloured raphia, warp-striped in light and dark green raphia (stripes 0.5 cm wide) at 6 to 7 cm intervals (save for the last 17 cm of width). Fringed ends. Supplementary weft-float pattern in pale green. 134 x 47 cm. (4) Piece of raphia fabric. Warp striped (2 cm wide approx) in dull crimson, dark blue, and green, with thin warp lines of natural raphia seperating the colours. Weft in dark blue raphia. Fringed ends. 35 x 43 cm. Tribal provenance uncertain.
