This drawing by his friend “MAX” was always greatly appreciated by Galsworthy and hung in the hall at Grove Lodge for many years and later at Bronshill Court, TORQUAY. It passed to Rudolph Sauter on the death of Ada Galsworthy, on the understanding that it should eventually form part of the MEMORIAL COLLECTION, which she had in mind.
Reproduced in LIFE AND LETTERS by H.V.MARROW
Inscriptions / Translations: ORIGINAL DRAWING by MAX BEERBOHM entitled: “Mr John Galsworthy, envisaging LIFE, and giving it – for he is nothing if not judicial – credit for the very best intention.”
