Description:  Obverse: Head of Septimius Severus, wearing laurel wreath and pronged-beard, facing r. Reverse: Two captives, bound, seated back to back, l. and r. of central trophy.

Inscriptions:  Obverse: L SEP SEVERVS PER ΛVG P M IMP XI (Lucius Septimius Severus Pertinax Augustus, Head of the College of Priests, Imperator for the Eleventh Time). Reverse: PAR AR AD TR P VI (The Parthian, the Arabian, the Adiabenican, Tribune for the Sixth Time). In Exergue: COS II F P (Consul for the Second Time, Father of the Fatherland).

Bibliography:  RIC IV 496 var.

Notes:  The reverse varies from the RIC type 496, and is the reverse type of 494B. Septimius was awarded these titles due to his victories in these areas.
