Description:  Obverse: Head of Probus, wearing helmet, radiate and bearded, cuirassed, holding spear and shield, facing l. Reverse: Salus, draped, standing facing r., feeding serpent in arms; V, to l.

Inscriptions:  Obverse: VIRTVS PROBI INVICTI HVC (The Courage of Probus, Invincible Augustus). Reverse: SALVS AVG (To the Health of the Emperor). In Exergue: TXXI

Bibliography:  RIC V 501 var.

Notes:  Traces of silvering. In accordance with RIC, the TXXI in the exergue of the reverse and the V in the field of the reverse are mintmarks (officina) indicating Ticinum. However, this coin differs to this particular type in RIC as the mintmark is different (XXIT).
