Notes:  Notation by Josh Dixon on 2024-01-12: Original specimen label says this is from 'Bardsey', which could be referable to multiple localities (e.g., Bardsey Island in Wales or Bardsey in West Yorkshire).

Notation by Josh Dixon on 2024-01-12: Specimen found in a tray with BIRUG 138854 and BIRUG 138855. Original specimen label kept with BIRUG 138855.

Originally labelled as 'Eocene' - reidentified as 'Lower Miocene (Burdigalian) to the upper Pliocene (Piacenzian)' by Lisa Schnetz on 15th February 2024.

Notation by Lisa Schnetz on 2024-02-15: Order: Lamniformes, Family: Lamnidae. The taxa ranges from the Lower Miocene (Burdigalian) to the upper Pliocene (Piacenzian). So if the tooth is hastalis, the Eocene time is unlikely. There is some debate about which genus hastalis should belong to, those are the most commonly used ones.
