First world war leather satchel made by Mark Cross Ltd, Walsall, 1915. Possibly field telephone case? Stamped 3rd Battalion, King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry. Stamped with broad arrow Ministry property mark. Canvas strap inside with metal buckle. Fastens with two leather straps with buckles. Long leather shoulder strap with buckle.

3rd Battalion was a special reserve battalion which was stationed in Britain during the first world war and did not serve overseas.
