Handwritten letter from E. M. Holmes to the Professor of Botany at the Mason College of Science. Speaks of his herbarium collection being perchased and presented to the Masons College Museum by Cadbury some years back and Hillhouse wanting a microscopical cabinet containing around 1000 slides of rare British algae. At the time, Holmes had not wanted to part with the microscopical cabinet, but now because of his deteriorating eyesight he can no longer work on algae. Letter is written on Memorandum paper 'From E. M. Holmes, PH.C., Consulting Botanist and Pharmacognosist' which is printed at the top of the page.
