Printed letter from John Ritchie to Miss A.M.Carman at the University of Birmingham. At the top of the letter, 'The Perthshire Natural History and Antiquarian Museums' is printed, along with an engraved crest. Underneath, on the left, 'John Ritchie. Curator' is printed. The letter says that Ritchie has gone to see Colonel Drummond Hay and showed him Carman's letters, who said that in his early days his father made one or two collections of plants, as does his sister. Seems to be Colonel Drummond Hay's father (presumably of the same name) who exchanged a lot of local plants for plants from other districts.
