Printed letter from J. Ritchie to Miss Carman at the University of Birmingham. At the top of the letter, 'The Perthshire Natural History and Antiquarian Museums' is printed, along with an engraved crest. Underneath, on the left, 'John Ritchie. Curator' is printed. The letter concerns Ritchie having receipt of Carman's letters and that he has been making enquiries. Explains the work of Colonel Drummond Hay associated with the Museum ('avifauna') and the work of Miss Constance Drummond Hay, who also often signed herself as 'C. Drummond Hay' and did work on fungus studies.
