Handwritten letter to Professor Hillhouse from Harold Stuart Thompson. Hillhouse, has not been corresponding for some time and has had ill health. Thompson talks about previously mentioning leaving his herbarium of dried plants, both British and Continental and his botanical books and papers, to the University of Birmingham. Since then his herbarium has been greatly enlarged and improved and he has collected plants on the Continent to add to his European collection (over 30 kilos of dried plants added this year). Speaks of having previously had bad influenza and his travels and sending one of his publications to Hillhouse and that he would prefer to send some of his Continental plants to Birmingham. Letter spans an additional piece of paper (double-sided) which is not attached. Letter is 6 pages in total and has previously been numbered.
