Trench art collection tin made from German first world war shell case. Lid secured by bullet attached to chain. Slot in one side. Coat of arms affixed to shell case above slot, with scroll bearing CONCILIO ET LABORE MANCHESTER. Battalion ensign affixed below slot, CITY 8 MANCHESTER (8th Battalion was one of the Manchester Pals volunteer battalions). Shell case inscribed with God Save the King, and stylised pattern. Lid inscribed PATRONENFABRIK KARLSRUHE K - 1 P - 53 - 12 1912.
