Notes:  There is some debate on the meaning of the first part of the reverse legend: it could either be monetal evidence for Commodus renaming Rome as Colonia Commodiana - thus, COL[onia] L[ucia] AN[toniniana] COM[modiana] (Eckhel, 1796) - or evidence for Commodus elevating Lanuvium, his birthplace, from municipium to the rank of colony - thus, COL[onia] LAN[uvina] COM[modiana] (Reiner, 1872; Clay, 1971).
