Description:  Obverse: Head of Galerius, wearing radiate crown and beard, draped and cuirassed, facing r. Reverse: Sol, naked but cloaked and radiate, standing facing l., raising r. hand and holding whip in l.

Inscriptions:  Obverse: MHXΓMIHNVS NOB C (Maximian, Noble Caesar). Reverse: ORIE-N-S AVGG (The Rising Sun of the Two Emperors). In Exergue: D

Bibliography:  RIC V 684 var.

Notes:  Silvered. According to RIC, the [B] in the exergue of the reverse is a mintmark indicating Lugdunum. As opposed to the RIC type, the figure of Sol on the reverse is standing l., rather than walking.
