Gisulf was the duke of Beneventum 689-706. He issued gold coins in the names of his contemporary Byzantine Emperors with a G in the field. Immitative gold coins were common with Western European states in the sixth century, but the Lombards issued the immitatives for a while longer than those more distant from the Empire.
