Name: Italian Hoard Brief biography: A dubious 'hoard' of solidi. |
|
The so-called Italian Hoard poses somewhat of a problem in that it may never actually have been a hoard. It is so recorded by Whitting, but while the solidi ranging from Justin II to Herakleios were bought together in Rome, there is no suggestion that they were actually found together. Nevertheless, we have recorded this as one of the Barber’s hoards. |
