Geta was the second son of Septimius Severus and Julia Domna. He was raised to be co-emperor with his father in 209, but after Severus's death in 211, Geta ruled jointly with his brother, Caracalla. The two brothers did not work well together, and Geta was eventually murder by his elder brother. He was then put under a damnatio memoriae, having his image erased and name struck off, wherever they appeared. |
