Julia Aquilia Severa was a vestal virgin until she was married by the Emperor Elagabalus, breaking her vow of virginity and scandalising much of the Roman elite. Elagabalus was eventually forced to divorce Severa and marry Annia Faustina, but soon divorced her in turn in order to return to Severa. |
